Construction workers injured in Pawtucket mill building collapse

PAWTUCKET, R.I. — Construction workers were injured in a collapse at a mill that was being rehabilitated in Pawtucket Monday morning.

The building located at 200 Esten Avenue was under construction to create 149 loft-style apartments in an abandoned five-story mill building.

Pawtucket Fire Sgt. Timothy Graham told WPRI there was an interior collapse shortly before 10 a.m.. He said three people were hurt, but the extent of the injuries was not immediately known.

The building is owned by Hope Artiste and was slated to join the adjacent Hope Artiste Village, with enclosed sky bridges connecting the two.
